If you’re fed up with spraying that toxic dry shampoo in yer face at various times throughout the week then you need to try this. I’m now a staunch covert after getting myself a fringe cut in (never again! WHY?!) which gets greasy the moment it’s dry.
And anyway, fringe or no, who has to time to wash hair when you’ve got kids?!
This one’s for you…x
Ingredients:
1/2 cup water
2 tbsns arrowroot or cornstarch
2 tbsns vodka
A few drops of essential oil
Method:
Mix all ingredients in a spray bottle.
I used an empty spray in conditioner bottle and a funnel to make sure the powder went in without going everywhere!
Shake.
To use: spray through the roots of your hair and give a good, vigourous massage with your fingers to work it in.
Flip your head over and spray/tousle the underneath roots and a little through the length.
Blast with a hair dryer, scrunching with your fingers as you go.
Brush out any excess powder and you’re done!
Have any brunettes tried this? I’m fairly dark, and I’d be curious whether it’d leave powder through my hair
Hi Sarah,
My roots are light brown and I don’t find it an issue. Certainly not with this spray, but I did with the commercial sprays. There is a brand that does a brunette version that you can buy.
I’ve seen some DIY shampoos with cocoa added for brown hair. That might be OK for a powder version that you apply with a brush; not so sure about in this one with liquid.
